Middle Tenessee Teen Leaders' Clubs

Ages 13-18

One of the oldest, strongest, most elite leadership clubs for teenagers, the Physical Education LEADERS-CLUB is for teens who want to excel in character-development and volunteering, along with academics, sports, and fitness.

Teens attend weekly meetings and seasonal “rallies”, sponsor events for other age-groups, hold various responsibilities at the YMCA, participate in community-service and facility-service projects, compete in fitness-tests and more - all of which build toward an ultimate roadtrip in June, 2003: a full week at the largest, oldest, most prestigious leadership-training-school in the nation - Blue Ridge Leaders School in the beautiful Black Mountains of North Carolina.

One of the added advantages of involvement in the Leaders-Club: for teens who are interested in a possible job or even a career with the YMCA, this is the primary “pool” from which we select and train new employees for various departments in the Y - it's the place for teens to develop and “prove themselves” as good and dependable leaders.

Teens and pre-teens that are involved in leadership training, volunteer service projects, personal growth experience, social activities and fundraisers.  All group activities are designed to enhance self-esteem, self-confidence and communication skills.

The advantage to being in a Y-Club...the journey to the Blue Ridge Christian Values Conference in Black Mountain, NC. A 5 day retreat with over 700 other teens to worship and learn more about God.

Both Leaders' School and the Christian Values conferences do depend on which center and wich club you join.
